Speaking of cardinals, the Catholic Church in the US just recently was blessed with the elevation of two more bishops into the College of Cardinals--one of whom is William Levada, the former archbishop of San Francisco and new Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Pope Benedict's previous post). The question I pose is how did Mahoney become a cardinal before Levada???
